pianist/performer/composer

A Revue

Function: pianist and performer, deconstruction of existing classical work and new work written by Laurens Mariën.

About A Revue:

Director and performer Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe is a huge fan of opera and ballet, of its grand scale, its tradition and its contemporary potential. In ‘A Revue’, a retro futuristic ballet, future residents of earth – thousands of years in the future – organise a revue evening. They play music and dance, making use of both recent and age-old material, going as far back as the Middle Ages. According to Meirhaeghe, we live in an era in which anything is possible. His burning desire is to show the richness of all the things that can connect with one another.
